las acciones : actions
las acotaciones : stage directions (exposition appearing in parentheses) en primer término in the foreground (front part of stage)
los actores : actors
los actos : the acts /
la actriz (las actrices) : actress .
la actuación : the acting (as a noun)
el ambiente : the setting (In Rome, England, etc.)
el aparte : the "aside"
el autoanálisis : self-analysis, on the part of a character
la comedia : comedy (also designates a 3-act Golden-Age play in Spain)
la complicación : the complication (of the plot)
el conflicto : the conflict
las confusiones : (incomprensiones ) misunderstandings
las convenciones dramáticas : dramatic conventions (traditions)
el decoro : decorum (acting, speaking In character)
el desenlace : denoument, "unraveling"
el diálogo : dialogue
el drama : a drama, a play
el dramaturgo : playwright, the person who writes the play
la escena: the scene
el escenario : the "set"
las escenas : the scenes
deus ex. machina : (Latin) god-like character (intervention) saving the day
la farsa : farce
el flashback : same in both langs.
el foro (fondo) : back portion of stage
el héroe : the hero (traditional)
el humorismo : humor
la justicia poética : poetic justice (good: rewarded; bad: punished)
el lado derecho : right aide of stage ("está al lado derecho")
el lado izquierdo : left side of stage
las luces (la iluminación) : lighting
el melodrama : melodrama
la motivación : motivation (very important in development of a play)
los obstáculos : obstacles
el público : the audience
los parlamentos : speeches
los personajes : characters
una pieza : a play
la prefiguración : foreshadowing
a protagonista, : the protagonist, main character
el punto culminante : climax
las reacciones : reactions
el reparto : the cast
la resolución : resolution (of the plot)
en segundo término : center stage
el simbolismo : symbolism
la simpatia (simpatizar) : sympathy
el soliloquio : soliloquy, a speech given by a character to no one
el teatro : theater, either the totality of "drama", or the building...
